Barker Systems (Renewable Energy Division) dba GT Sun Power opened its Georgetown, Guyana office in 2018. The small team of qualified professionals immediately established its presence and began targeting rural communities that were mostly unserved from the local grid.
After months of consultations among the local populace, a niche market was created; farmers, namely livestock producers were readily available to partner with the company for what would be a first for many - electricity.
In 2019, Barker Systems entered into a strategic partnership with Rosen Solar Energy Company Limited, a multinational Chinese manufacturer, known for producing quality renewable energy products. A B2B agreement between the companies saw Barker Systems being granted the rights to resell and rebrand all photovoltaic panels and accessories in Guyana, Suriname and the Eastern Caribbean.
In 2022, Rosen Solar appointed Barker Systems as its sole authorized distributor for all its products in Guyana.
